The 'Bell of the Dragon's Love' draws on the Enoshima Engi legend, in which the heavenly maiden who raised the island tamed a fearsome five-headed dragon with her love.
A Modern Tradition
Today couples ring the bell and fasten a padlock to the nearby fence, vowing lasting love — a contemporary custom inspired by the old tale.
