Higashiyama Higashi is the name of a district in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture. It is an important preservation area for groups of traditional buildings, and is known as the Higashi Chaya District. It is about 130 meters north and south, about 180 meters east and west, and about 1.8 ha. About two-thirds of the buildings 140 in the preservation area are traditional buildings, and there are many chaya-style machiya houses built from the founding of Chaya-machi to the early Meiji period. It is one of the main tourist destinations in Kanazawa.

Kanazawa's Geisha Quarter
Laid out in 1820 by the Kaga domain, Higashi Chaya is the largest of Kanazawa's old teahouse districts, its lattice-fronted machiya still home to geisha culture.
