Gateway to the Art Islands
Takamatsu Port is the main gateway to the art islands of the Seto Inland Sea—Naoshima, Teshima, Ogijima, Megijima and more—where ferries set out across calm, island-dotted waters. The waterfront itself is part of the art experience: Kohei Nawa's mirror-finished columns 'Liminal Air -core-' rise by the quay, and the glass-block red lighthouse 'Setoshirube' glows at night. Especially during the Setouchi Triennale, the port brims with travellers bound for the islands.

A Crossroads of the Inland Sea
Long a hub of Inland Sea shipping, Takamatsu grew as the maritime gateway to Shikoku and the surrounding islands.
The Triennale Gateway
Since the first Setouchi Triennale in 2010, the port has become the launching point for one of the world's great island art festivals.
