Dazaifu Tenmangu
Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine is a shrine located in Saifu, Dazaifu City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The old shrine classification under the modern shrine classification system was Kanpeichu-sha Shrine, and now it is a Beppyo Shrine of the Jinja Honsho. The divine crest is the plum crest. One of the Tenmangu Shrines enshrining Sugawara no Michizane (Sugakimi) as an enshrined deity (at the knees of Tenjin-sama). Together with Kitano Tenman-gu Shrine in Kyoto, it is the main headquarters of Tenman-gu Shrine nationwide, and is deeply believed to be the mausoleum of Sugako. On the third day of the New Year, the number of visitors is about 2 million, and about 10 million visitors visit each year. Together, Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, and Hofu Tenmangu Shrine are called "Santenjin." There are various theories about the three heavenly deities, including Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine and Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, but there is also a theory that the other one is Osaka Tenmangu Shrine.

Dazaifu Tenmangu is built over the grave of Sugawara no Michizane, the Heian scholar revered as Tenjin, deity of learning. Students from across Japan come to pray for success in their exams.
