Takayama Jinya
Takayama Jinya is a daikan office (jinya) established by the Edo bakufu (Japanese feudal government headed by a shogun) to manage Hida Province as a directly controlled territory. It was located in Hachiken-cho, Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture. The grounds and building are open to the public for a fee, and historical materials from the Edo period are on display inside. The morning market is held every day in front of the front gate, and in Takayama City it is popular as a jinya morning market along with the Miyagawa morning market.
