About this spot
Sogi-sui Spring
Sogi-sui, also called Hakuun-sui, is a clear spring in the heart of Gujo Hachiman — the very first site chosen for Japan's '100 Famous Waters'. Named after the renga poet Sogi who is said to have lived beside it, the spring is tiered for drinking, washing food and rinsing, a living example of the town's water etiquette.
