Owakudani
Owakudani is a volcanic landslide from Hakone Volcano in Hakone Town, Kanagawa Prefecture. It is located on the north slope of Mt. Kanagatake, the central crater hill of Hakone Volcano, at an altitude of 800 m to 1,000 m, and it is also an active fumarole area in the geothermal zone. It is the largest of the many fumarole zones on Hakone Volcano. In addition, hot springs are created using fumes and groundwater, and they are also a source of hot springs for many accommodation facilities (described later).
