Two Gardens at Nanzen-ji

Tenju-an is a subtemple of Nanzen-ji prized for two contrasting gardens: a geometric front garden of stone paths and moss, and a strolling pond garden behind. Founded in 1339, it is especially beautiful when autumn maples redden and reflect in the water.
