Hōshun-in
Hōshun-in is a historic shrine and temple in Kyoto. Travel through its seasons and highlights across 2 on-location videos before you visit.
Hoshun-in (July 25, 1547 - August 17, 1617) was a woman from the Sengoku period to the early Edo period. She is the lawful wife of Toshiie Maeda, a Sengoku daimyo (Japanese territorial lord in the Sengoku period) in Kaga Province (Ishikawa Prefecture). The daughter of Kazuki Shinohara. Her name is Matsu, and her posthumous posthumous Buddhist name is Hoshunin Donohana Iwamune Tomitomi Dai Zenjo-ni. Since his mother (the Takeno clan) is Toshiie's mother's sister, he has a cousin-sister relationship with Toshiie. It is said that she was a woman familiar with learning and martial arts.
